Join the St. Francis Medical Careers Explorer Post

High school students interested in learning more about medical careers have the opportunity to join the St. Francis Medical Careers Explorer Program this fall. The program is geared for high school students who would like a hands-on introduction into the medical field.
Students may enroll in the nine-week session to learn more about the following exciting and dynamic departments:
Cardiology (Echo Techs, EKG Techs) Emergency (Trauma, EMT, LifeStar) Laboratory (Microbiology, Pathology) Nursing Radiology (Diagnostic, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, CT, MRI) Rehabilitation (Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy) Social Work/Counseling Surgery Anesthesiology Pharmacy
To learn more about the program and to enroll, plan to attend the first Medical Careers Explorer Program meeting at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, in the Auditorium on the second floor of St. Francis Health Center, 1700 SW 7th St., Topeka. The meeting lasts less than one hour and will acquaint you with the program outline, explain a few details, introduce a few of the people in our organization and answer your questions.
Students are encouraged to bring a parent to this meeting and any friends who might be interested in learning more about the program.
The Medical Careers Explorer Program registration is $7. Please bring your payment to the first meeting to expedite enrollment should you decide to join. Please call 785-295-7962 if you have questions.
