Our physicians
Kannya Asokan, MD, previously worked as a hospitalist at Mount Carmel East Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Asokan completed her residency in internal medicine at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pa. She earned her medical degree from PSG Institute of Medical Science and Research in Coimbatore, India. She previously worked as a medical officer at Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre in Madurai, India. Dr. Asokan is board certified in Internal Medicine.
Máire E. Fowler, DO, graduated with a bachelor's degree in French language and literature from the University of Kansas and pursued graduate studies in French literature. She graduated summa cum laude from the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Kansas Medical Center. She received an internal medicine award for the Class of 2004 and the AMWA Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation for women graduating in the top 10 percent of their medical school class.
Vijay Mhatre, MD, is a board-certified internist. He received a bachelor's degree, a master's degree and a medical degree from Poona University in Poona, India. He completed a general medicine residency at Sassoon General Hospital in India, an internal medicine residency at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron, Ohio, and a fellowship in rheumatology and immunology at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Ky. He has practiced medicine in Topeka since 1984, most recently with the Kansas Medical Clinic. He previously served as director of medical services for Century Health Solutions and as medical director of Rolling Hills Health Center and CARE.
Mark Newth, DO, has been a family practice physician since 1979. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Maine and a medical degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Mo. Previously, he worked at Century Medical Center and Kansas Medical Clinic. He has served as chairman of family practice departments at Stormont-Vail HealthCare and Memorial Hospital.
David Warrick, MD, a board-certified internal medicine physician since 1979, earned a bachelor's degree from Duke University and a medical degree from Medical College of Ohio at Toledo. He completed his residency at Presbyterian Medical Center in Denver, Colo., and previously worked at Century Medical Center and Kansas Medical Clinic. Dr. Warrick is a past president of the St. Francis Health Center medical staff.
