To make the H1N1 vaccinations available to a greater number of individuals within the targeted populations, the Shawnee County Health Agency (SCHA), St. Francis Health Center and Stormont-Vail HealthCare will have a limited supply of vaccine available for people who meet certain criteria set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “Based on what we know about this virus, it is important that some groups of people who are more susceptible to becoming very sick if they are infected receive this vaccine as soon as possible,” stated Shawnee County Health Officer, Dr. Pezzino. “While local supplies are still limited, as more vaccine becomes available in the next few weeks there will be more opportunities to receive the vaccine for everyone who wishes to be protected against this virus.”
