Insurance Information

As part of the education and insurance process, we recommend you take advantage of every opportunity you can to learn about bariatric surgery. One of your first steps is our free weight loss surgery seminar. Please note that our program requires you to attend a weight loss seminar.

Common Requirements for Bariatric Surgery

Many insurance companies also require you to meet with a dietitian before your surgery. The dietitian will talk with you about your current eating habits. The dietitian will also recommend a diet to follow before you are approved for surgery. Many insurance companies also require a supervised diet for a designated length of time before approving bariatric surgery. Often, the dietitian may provide this supervision. Sometimes, the insurance company requires your diet to be supervised by a physician. You will need to meet the requirements of your specific insurance provider.

Help with Information Prior to Weight Loss Surgery

Your insurance provider most likely will have a list of strict requirements for you to meet before a surgery can be scheduled. We recommend that you contact your insurance provider and ask for your policy information and what is covered when it comes to bariatric surgery. If you need help navigating your insurance plan, ask us. We are here to help!
